
The president of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, expressed his rejection on Saturday towards the possible influence of the Islamist group known as the Muslim Brotherhood in terrorist acts or potential attacks in Ecuadorian territory. The condemnation was issued through an executive decree signed by Noboa from Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he was conducting an official visit.
"The presence or activities of terrorist groups represent a threat to national security and the stability of the country, which is why we reject any attempt at influence by organizations like the Muslim Brotherhood in Ecuador," stated President Noboa during the issuance of his decree.
The Ecuadorian leader expressed his concern about the possible spread of extremist ideologies in the region and reaffirmed his government's commitment to combating terrorism and protecting the sovereignty of the country. He also urged the competent authorities to remain vigilant and take the necessary measures to prevent any threats arising from radical groups.
In light of the growing international concern over the expansion of extremist groups, Daniel Noboa reiterated the importance of cooperation among nations to effectively confront terrorism in all its forms.
