A boat named 'Fiesta Marina' sank near El Murciélago beach in Manta, Ecuador, with 13 people rescued by the coast guard. Emergency health services attended to them.


Rescue Operation After Boat Sinks in Manta

The marine authorities in the area received an alert about the sinking of the vessel "Fiesta Marina" without specifying the cause. On board were eleven passengers and two crew members, who were rescued alive by the Coast Guard sub-command of the Navy. The rescue team arrived at the scene after activating the corresponding emergency protocols.

The rescued individuals were attended to upon arrival at the port by personnel from the Ministry of Health and the Manta Fire Department. According to videos, some passengers attempted to stay at the front of the boat while others chose to jump into the sea and swim to nearby vessels in the same location. The rescue operation was monitored through the cameras of the Integrated Security Service (ECU 911).

The Ecuadorian Navy carried out the rescue of 13 people who fell into the sea when the vessel they were on sank off the beach El Murciélago, in the province of Manabí. The incident occurred in the afternoon of the previous day.
