Panamanian players at Ecuador's Universidad Católica club were the protagonists in the latest round of the Ecuadorian Serie A, contributing to a 4-1 victory over Guayaquil City. Azarías Londoño and Everardo Rose each scored a goal, while José Fajardo also had a standout performance despite not scoring. It should be noted that all three Panamanians came on in the second half, when Universidad Católica took control of the match after trailing 0-1 in the first 45 minutes. Londoño scored in the 49th minute, while Rose scored in the 89th. Londoño and Fajardo are in the running to make the final squad under coach Thomas Christiansen, who will compete in the FIFA World Cup 2026. With the win, Universidad Católica is in second place in the league with 12 points, surpassed only by Independiente del Valle with 16 points.
