Ecuador's President, Daniel Noboa, inaugurated the plenary session of the XXIX Ibero-American Summit of heads of State and Government with a speech highlighting the complexity of the challenges facing the region, such as transnational crime, climate change, droughts, and abandonment. Noboa emphasized the importance of promoting innovative and creative solutions to address these problems, especially in critical areas like organized crime, climate change, and the labor inclusion of youth.
In the framework of the Ibero-American Summit, which had the participation of only four of the twenty-four invited leaders, Noboa pointed out the absence of several Latin American presidents and the relevance of private sector support in the search for new opportunities. He highlighted the importance of business commitment and mentioned the success of the XV Ibero-American Business Meeting, which brought together 1,200 entrepreneurs and concluded with a commitment to employability.
Noboa expressed that strengthening the connection between the public and private sectors is essential to address current challenges and create equitable economic growth. He underscored the priority of supporting youth through job creation and vocational training to promote sustainable development in the region.
In summary, the Ecuadorian leader stressed the need to confront together the challenges affecting Ibero-America, fostering collaboration between sectors and promoting creative solutions to generate opportunities and a more just and sustainable development in the region.
