The world of football is mourning the tragic news of the death of Marco Angulo, player of the Ecuador National Team, at just 22 years of age. The terrible car accident involving the midfielder of Liga Universitaria de Quito occurred on October 7 on the Rumiñahui highway, in the capital of Ecuador. In the accident, Marco Angulo was seriously injured and after more than a month of fighting in the hospital, his death was finally confirmed due to the severe injuries sustained.
Unfortunately, in the same accident, Roberto Cabezas, who was driving the car, and Víctor Charcopa also lost their lives. Both died almost immediately in the tragic event. Marco Angulo had a distinguished career in Ecuadorian football. He started in the Sub-20 category of Independiente del Valle in 2017, later becoming a key part of the league titles and Copa Sudamericana achieved by the team. In 2023, he had a brief experience with Cincinnati in MLS before returning to Ecuador to play in Liga de Quito.
