The effects of extractivism, setbacks in labor rights, blockages against civil society organizations, and repressive actions during the latest National Strike in Ecuador were also addressed. "Cadenazo de Medios Libres" emerged a month ago as a collective broadcast in solidarity with the October national strike in Ecuador. Its goal was to shed light on state repression, institutional racism, and the resistance of indigenous peoples against economic adjustment. Following its first broadcast, the project consolidated into a continental articulation network where popular media share tools and strategies for emancipatory communication.

Under the "Cadenazo de Medios Libres" initiative, free and alternative media from Latin America organized a talk on November 11th to analyze the advancement of neoliberal policies in the region, referencing the results of the Popular Consultation in Ecuador. The event brought together indigenous leaders and environmental defenders from Ecuador, Argentina, and Chile. The forum, part of the "Cadenazo de Medios Libres" initiative, featured Sisa Cotacachi, president of the Federation of Kichwa Peoples of the Northern Sierra of Imbabura (FICI) and a key figure in Ecuador's national strike. Also participating were the Mapuche lawyer and former constituent Natividad Llanquileo (Chile); Jairo Irumenga, director of the Ceibo Alliance; and Lizeth Coquinche, a lawyer with UDAPT. From Argentina, Eugenia Segura and Federico Soria of the Self-Convoked Assembly of Neighbors of Uspallata (Mendoza), a collective defending water and glaciers against large-scale mining, also took part.

The analysis focused on the labor, institutional, and security reforms pushed by President Daniel Noboa's government, measures that have sparked broad social debate. A talk with representatives from Ecuador, Argentina, and Chile assessed the impact of the reforms Noboa is attempting to implement in Ecuador and other issues affecting Latin America.
